Tour description

Believe us when we say that a special magic sets over our beloved city upon sundown. During the day, while the sun shines on all those white marble streets and buildings, rivers of curious tourists wander around, taking photos. But at night, you will notice how everything and everyone gets a special glow. If you ask us, evening is the best time for sightseeing in Dubrovnik. And if you are having some good local wine while you are at it – well, isn’t that a perfect combination!

FIRST THE HISTORY LESSON, THEN THE WINE

Our Dubrovnik evening wine tasting tour starts at the western entrance to the Old City– Pile Gate. But we will not enter the city just yet! First, we will walk down to the sea so you can see one of the five magnificent forts surrounding the Old City– Fort Lovrijenac, also known as the Gibraltar of Dubrovnik. While you admire the sight before us, we will tell you more about the history of Dubrovnik.

BIG CITY SIGHTS & SMALL NARROW STREETS

Upon entering the city through Pile Gate, our first stop will be the Great Onofrio’s Fountain. Its task during the Republic of Dubrovnik was to ensure that both the citizens and their visitors had a sufficient supply of fresh water. And, as you will see, they still do. Then, we will walk you down the small narrow streets most visitors usually don’t pay much attention to, because they are too busy looking at the bigger sights and attractions. You will notice how these streets have a life of their own, completely different than the one happening on Stradun. You will see washed clothes hung to dry, and people sitting outside their homes and chit-chatting. After visiting the Luža Square, we will proceed to the Jesuit Church of St. Ignatius. You will get to see the famous staircase and take a picture of/on them, as we need to climb them to get to the church.

NOW, ABOUT THAT WINE…

You were probably wondering when the wine part of Dubrovnik wine tasting tour will start, huh? As expected, we have saved the best for last! We will take you to two wine bars within the city walls, where you will savor the wine made from local grapes Malvasija Dubrovačka and Dingač. And no, we won’t forget to give you the most important information a good guide shares with their guests: the best places to eat and drink!

PLEASE NOTE: If you would prefer to take this tour during the day, we will adapt to your wishes.
