INCLUDED: Entrance fee to Fort Lovrjenac
HIGHLIGHTS: Main city sights and Game of Thrones shooting locations

TRIVIA: We suppose you already know that Dubrovnik was used to depict King’s Landing, the capital of Westeros. However, alongside the Game of Thrones series, Dubrovnik has also had a starring role in many other TV shows and movies, including Robin Hood: Origins, Star Wars: The Last Jedi, and HBO series Knightfall. Hopefully, there will be many more to come in the future.

Tour description

As if you needed more reasons to visit our beautiful city and go sightseeing, the producers of HBO Game of Thrones series decided to make it even more famous! This Game of Thrones Dubrovnik walking tour combined with the conventional sightseeing of the main city sights and attractions, is the best way to explore both Dubrovnik and King’s Landing.

DOES IT LOOK FAMILIAR?

We will start our tour at the Gibraltar of Dubrovnik, that is Fort Lovrjenac (St. Lawrence), which stands proudly atop the 37-meter-high cliff on the western side of the Old City. One look at it will be enough for you to grasp why the Game of Thrones producers decided it would be perfect to double as the Red Keep. From Fort Lovrjenac you will have the view of the Pile Bay, where several scenes were shot, as well as of the Fort Bokar, which was used in Season 2, Episode 8, titled The Prince of Winterfell for the scene of the conversation between Tyrion Lannister and Lord Varys.

We will then proceed towards the Pile Gate, which has also featured in several scenes. Perhaps the most memorable scene is that of King Joffrey’s attack by the angry mobs. Passing through the city, we will see some of the main sights and attractions, including the Great Onofrio’s Fountain, the Franciscan Monastery with the pharmacy, and St. Savior’s Church.

THE FAMOUS JESUIT STAIRCASE

We will visit the Ethnographic Museum, which was used as the city’s granary in the 16th century, and also as Littlefinger’s brothel in Season 4, Episode 1 Two Swords. Some of you might think “A museum turned into a brothel?!” But hey, as long as it’s for a good cause… True GoT fans will approve!

Perhaps the most intriguing shooting location we will visit during this walking tour is the Jesuit staircase beneath the St. Ignatius’ Church. We are 100% sure you will remember the scene where it doubles as the steps of the Great Sept of Baelor, in Cersei’s Walk of Shame in Season 5, Episode 10 Mother’s Mercy.

These are just some of the locations we will visit on our Game of Thrones Dubrovnik walking tour. We will reveal them all to you if you decide to join us.
